The Cattle industry isn't anything new or exciting, its been around for centuries and rapidly becoming a diminishing way of American life. The median age is 56. Most being inherited family businesses. We tailor made Nunnally & Sons to fit a specific market in the cattle industry. We chose a Blonde Aquitaine and Red Angus cross, we wanted to produce a good lean meat with excellent marbling qualities. Our cattle are kept on grasses all year long and handled with "low stress" techniques. We do a rigorous health and wellness regiment and having an on site vet tech allows us to respond with greater efficiency to any concerns. Animal wellness is our Prime Objective. We use a rotational paddock (cell) grazing system. We supplement native grasses with a corn paddock infusion. We never use ATV's in our handling and moving practices. Our cattle are never fed chemically engineered food supplement or growth added proteins. We raise our meats 100% natural as Mother Nature intended.
We take a fundamental approach to business and ranching. Our cowboys take pride in their titles of Bovine Specialist. Many believe roping and riding are all a cowboy does in a day's work. At Nunnally & Sons we teach the methodology behind the practices, not only do our cowboys know what to do but they also know why they are doing it. We uniform our specialist in logo branded work shirts and other apparels. We believe in building working teams and not just creating jobs. Our Bovine Specialist have the unique opportunity of spending 5 yrs in our Management apprenticeship program and once they have completed they go on to manage one of our future satellite ranches.
Our herd's successful development comes from the specific understanding of grasses. Range management is the key to good herd health and development. Our Bovine Specialist are required to implement a monthly hands on inspection of every single animal on our ranch.
We (Nunnallys) embrace the hands on approach and operate the ranch from as a family run operation, we do not hire out management positions we train and promote from within and intend expand ourselves at every opportunity.
